this recommendation contradicts president obama's position on health care reform. should be able to keep the plan you have if you are happy with it. perhaps the greater concern that you mentioned is a cost savings for this proposal would have a cost savings for dod but it shifts the savings to health and human services. i don't see how we are anticipating a cost savings as a whole and i think it will be detrimental to the beneficiaries. can you address my concerns on this? >> there would be some net savings of government because we are paying these hospitals at significantly higher than medicare rates. part of the goal is that we treat all the hospitals similarly. i want to clarify that as people reach age 65, they would need to join tri-care for life. they would not be required to leave the hospital where they are being treated. they would need to do with every other retiree does in the department of defense when they reach age 65 and that is joined the tri-care for life program. there would be savings, modest and there are some costs shifted to medicare. we would

i am bewildered by what president obama has done when he called for the muslim brotherhood to have a seat at the table in the new egyptian government. based on their recent history and statements from their leadership and founding charter, a, quote, seat at the table for the brotherhood would be a grave threat to any democratic society as well as the egypt-israel peace treaty and the stability, indeed, of the entire middle east. mr. chairman, israel shares a long and porous border with egypt and i cannot express how crucial it is for the new government of egypt to honor their peace treaty i call on the u.s. house of representatives to expect that any government of egypt do exactly that and hope any new government of egypt will remember that america is watching. now, mr. chairman, i thought it was important to get these comments on the record in this debate tonight. however, i'm told due to clause 2 and rule 21 that a point of order will be raised on my amendment and therefore i ask unanimous consent to withdraw it at this time and i yield back. the chair: without objection, the amend

[laughter] i think there are seven steps to the center for obama. first, sign the repeal of obamacare. [applause] let me make a point to my news media friends. 58% of the american people in the most recent poll favor repeal of obamacare. now, 58% ought to be the center. i mean, where's the center if it's not a majority of the americans? i know for some people the center is the faculty club at harvard or "the new york times" editorial board, but that's not factually correct. so if the president would truly like to be part of the american middle, sign the repeal. two, sign tort reform for doctors. he said the other night he'd like to do it, let's let him do it. [applause] the congress should pass it based on texas and other reforms, the strongest possible tort reform bill and let him become president no by saying he didn't actually mean what he said because i if he said he didn't actually mean it, so wind have understand the action of something else he forgot to say because the teleprompter wasn't work withing at that particular moment, and it's not h

>> i have had frank conversation with president obama about this. i believe it is an incredibly close relationship, but when you disagree, you should be frank in saying so. in this situation, we do not agree. while the resolution was ideally drafted, we believe is right, and are disappointed that it was vetoed. we have to persuade the americans that further investment in the peace process is absolutely worth it, not just for its own sake, but for stability in the region. >> the government has been absolutely right to support the forces for democratic change, but does my honorable friend think that this supports will have any effect on future relationship with our other autocratic friends in the region? >> i was actually quite stroke, on a recent trip to the gulf region, how our old allies are actually in favor of taking further steps toward democracy, more open societies. far from the dismay from our clear reaction that democracy and freedom is a good thing, and they were fully in support of it. >> mr. speaker, in kuwait, promoting arms sales and ex

then look at the states where senator obama won just barely. and those would be the ones that republicans are going to try to reach if he could hang on to them. if president obama could hold on to the virginias and north carolinas and indianas. then he wins. and if he wins. if he can't, then he doesn't. >> you've been recapping some of the races. some of the candidates of 2010 and now 2012. joe lieberman, independent who sides with the democrats of connecticut and two republican retirements. guest: well, the top ones for democrats is that the two republican retirements, kay bailey hutchison and john kyle. it's pretty unlikely those democrats can pick those up that republicans have a better chance of picking up those open democratic seats than vice versea. but i think we're seeing that democrats have 23 seats at risk in 2012. republicans only have 10. two years after that democrats have 20, republicans have 3. so a lot of democrats are saying wow, the odds are pretty high we're going to lose control of the senate. do i want to stick around if i'

we see it in president obama today. we saw it in president lincoln, we saw it in president truman, we saw it in president eisenhower, and we saw it in ronald reagan. no president symbolized that more in the last half-century than president reagan did, though. he reminded us of what it means to be an american. he lifted our spirits, he made us proud, he strengthened our character, and he taughtes a great many lessons. we celebrate the centennial of his birth and the half-century of his influence in public life. mr. president, i ask unanimous consent to include at the end of my remarks ronald reagan's speech "a time for choosing" made october 27, 1964, which was the beginning -- which launched him into public debate in the united states. the presiding officer: without objection. mr. alexander: i ask unanimous consent following that to include remarks i made in orange county, california, on october 28, 1994, on the 30th anniversary of the speech "time for choosing." the presiding officer: without objection. mr. alexander:
